whoops.

Alright, I know I promised that this place would get going again, and I know I promised that a while ago. I understand if you're mad, I would be too! But here is the thing: none of the mods have the time, energy, nor the passion to put into this community anymore, least of all myself. It's not the hardest job in the world, but it's difficult to do when you aren't self-motivated. I'm sad to have to say that the Fleur de Lys Modeling Agency is closing it's doors for good, but... it's definitely closing them for now. You've all worked very hard, and I'm very proud of you, but I'd rather give you at least some closure, rather than keep you hanging on for six months at a time, until I can work up the energy to post something. I'm sorry for everyone who had their hopes up, but I can't really see another way.

What I do what to announce, though, is that I have a new community - it's something I've been wanting to do and sitting on for a while, and I think that now is the time to actually debut it! The community is candybarstyle, and while it's similar to FDL or candybarmodels in that it is based on challenges, but it's different in that it's based more on user participation than on structured competition. There's not a lot up yet, but please, if you're interested, go ahead and start posting! Maybe you can, ahem, post the photos from your last photoshoot? That I never put up? Just a thought, haha.

Also, I do need someone else to help me run it - as we know, it helps to have someone who's actually really passionate and motivated to help move things along. Basically, the job entails posting challenges and making sure everything runs smoothly. It is a lot simpler than being a judge, let me tell you, so let me know if you're interested!

new judge + critiques from photoshoot no. 5

So, first off, I have an exciting announcement! We have added a new permanent judge, and it definitely going to be a familiar face...

That's right, our winner from the first season, Miss Harley Q Tavares is going to be joining us! We're very excited to be having her, and I'm sure she will have some valuable advice for all of you.

Your critiques from the last photoshoot await!Collapse )

Episode Six, Part One - like totally awesome, dudes

Hello everyone! We've decided that, because there was such a long delay, and we're still trying to regroup and figure out what's really going on, we're going to go ahead and skip the elimination for last round. Everybody who still wants to be is still in, and anybody who wants to drop out can take this as an opportunity to do so.

You will be getting critiques on your last photoshoot, don't worry, but rather than make you all wait around for us to finish that up, we're going to give you your next photoshoot assignment so we can get moving again!

So, this week, you guys are going to be paying tribute to my favorite decade: the 90s! If you've walked into any major fashion retailer recently, you'll definitely have noticed that the 90s are back in a big way! Trends like leggings, plaid, neon, Doc Martens, floral patterns, and ripped denim were all popular in the 90s, and that's what you all are going to be channeling.

Of course, it would be super easy to throw on a pair of overalls and a scrunchie and be done, but that's not what we're going for here. It's important to still be fashionable and modern, even when you're paying homage to another era, and that's what we want to see here. If you are not as old as me (haha) and you don't know what to go for, google is your friend!

Your deadline is March 2 March 5 (extension for you, Vivi!), which is two weeks from now. Have fun, and we'll try to get your critiques from the last photoshoot before then!

auuuuugh

Ok, hi. I know that we have been incommunicado recently, and I feel super bad about it. Real life gets in the way of internet stuff a lot, but you guys have been laying the guilt on, so heeeeeere I am. Right now I am trying to get in touch with the other judges (which is not easy). Hopefully we are going to be able to get something together soon, and we will have some sort of result or information for you coming up.

Ok, two things first.
1. Emmeline/Letitia, do you guys still want to stay in? I don't know if you are still in the same position you were in in November or not, so please let me know!
2. Does anyone want to come on as a new judge, at least until the end of this cycle? If you're interested, please email me (rockstar.usherette@gmail.com) and we can figure something out!

Just as a heads-up, we're still missing two photos, from Emmeline and Letitia. I'm willing to give you both the time you need (or a skip, if that's necessary), just let me know what's goin' on.

Hey guys, just a reminder that your deadline for this photoshoot is two days from now! No one has asked for an extension yet, but it seems like that's probably going to be a necessity.

End of the Line

I just want to thank each and every competitor for making FDL what it is today. You've all been so patient, but I don't think the judges have much personal time to judge here anymore, and I'm afraid I can't do it alone. I hate to say this, but FDL has officially ended, and even though it may seem we're letting you down, I just want to thank you for everything you've put into this competition.

Notification

Hi girls. Just a heads up to say I won't be as active for the next week or two; we've had a loss in the family and there's a lot to deal with right now. I know how patient you all are, I'm just asking for a little time.
Thanks
